ChartSnap Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 2, 2026
ChartSnap is built to know as little about you as possible: no account, no name, no email, no ads, no third-party analytics. Unlike most 8greyscale apps, ChartSnap is not fully offline — producing a chart read requires our server — so this policy explains exactly what is sent and why.
What we collect
- Chart photos you submit. When you scan or upload a chart, that image is sent over HTTPS to our analysis server and forwarded to an AI vision API (Anthropic) to produce your analysis. Photos are processed to serve your request and are not used to build advertising profiles.
- An anonymous device identifier. A random identifier — not your name, email, or Apple ID — is used server-side to enforce the free-scan limit and fair use.
What stays on your device
Your analysis history — past reads, annotated charts, and your Signal Scorecard entries — is stored only on your device. There is no account and no cloud sync, so we cannot browse your history.
What we don't collect
No name, no email, no contacts, no location. ChartSnap has no accounts, contains no advertising, and includes no third-party analytics SDKs.
Purchases
Subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment information. Apple's privacy policy applies to the transaction: apple.com/legal/privacy.
Data retention & deletion
Your analysis history lives in the app on your device: deleting an analysis removes it, and deleting the app deletes your entire history.

ChartSnap provides probability-based technical analysis for educational purposes only. It is not financial advice, not a recommendation, and not a solicitation to buy or sell anything. Trading involves substantial risk of loss.
Children
ChartSnap is rated 17+ and is not directed to children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children, and contains no ads.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted at this URL and noted in the app's release notes.
