Common questions

Where is my data stored?

On your device, inside the app. 8greyscale apps have no accounts, and Odolog, Snapventory, and Hitchlist have no servers at all — nothing is uploaded, ever. ChartSnap sends only the chart photo you submit to our analysis server to produce your read (your analysis history stays on your device), and ClaimSnap sends information only if you explicitly submit its optional consultation request. Because there are no accounts, we can't recover data for you: use each app's free export or backup feature, and keep your normal iPhone backup (iCloud or computer) on.

How do restores and new phones work?

Your app data is included in your standard iPhone backup, so restoring a full iPhone backup onto a new phone brings your data with it. Odolog and Snapventory also offer a manual backup file you can save anywhere (Settings → Back up).

I bought Pro — how do I get it on my other device?

Pro is a one-time App Store purchase tied to your Apple ID, with Family Sharing enabled. On the other device, open the app's Settings (or the unlock screen) and tap Restore Purchases. ChartSnap subscriptions work the same way — tap Restore Purchases on the paywall.

How do I manage or cancel a ChartSnap subscription?

Subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple: on your iPhone, go to Settings → your name → Subscriptions, choose ChartSnap, and change or cancel there. Cancelling at least 24 hours before the period ends stops the next charge.

Do you offer refunds?

Purchases are processed by Apple, so refunds go through them: visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, and request a refund for the purchase.

Will my data be used for ads or sold?

No. Our apps contain no ads, no third-party analytics, and no tracking, and we never sell data. See the privacy policies — they're short, and they say exactly what (if anything) leaves your device.
