ReceiptRun Privacy Policy

ReceiptRun is built so that we cannot access your data, because it never leaves your device.

What we collect

Nothing. ReceiptRun has no servers, no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party SDKs. Your receipts, expense categories, mileage trips, and quarterly totals are stored only in the app's local database on your device.

Camera, photos, and receipt scanning

The camera is used solely to photograph your business receipts. Text recognition (OCR) runs entirely on your device using Apple's on-device Vision framework — receipt images are never uploaded to us or any third party for scanning. The photo and the recognized text are stored inside the app on your device.

What leaves your device

• Nothing automatically. The app makes no network requests of its own.
• Purchases: the optional Pro subscription and lifetime "Tax Season Unlock" are processed entirely by Apple. We never see payment information. Apple's privacy policy applies: apple.com/legal/privacy.
• Reports you export: the quarterly PDF and CSV reports you generate go wherever you send them — for example, to your tax preparer. That's under your control.

Data retention & deletion

Your data lives in the app. Deleting a receipt or trip deletes its records and images. Deleting the app deletes everything — export your reports first if you want to keep them.

Not tax advice

ReceiptRun is a record-keeping and export tool. It does not file taxes and is not tax or legal advice. Verify figures (including the current IRS mileage rate) with a qualified professional.

Children

ReceiptRun does not collect data from anyone, including children, and contains no ads.

Any future changes will be posted at this URL and noted in release notes.
